El candidato independiente por los movimientos sociales en el distrito 8 (Cerrillos, Colina, Estación Central, Lampa, Maipú, Pudahuel, Quilicura y Til Til), presenta una candidatura que parte en lo sindical y que se abre en un abanico de propuestas para la convención constituyente.

¿Cuál es tu relación de vida con el distrito?

He vivido en Estación Central toda mi vida, y como gran parte de mis vecinos y vecinas, sé lo que es tener que movilizarse todos los días en micros y metros llenos para ir a trabajar al sector oriente de Santiago, a comunas que tienen una realidad totalmente distinta a la tuya. Soy parte de esa gente común que vive con el sueldo mínimo como gran parte de nuestro distrito, que no tenemos grandes áreas verdes para el ocio y la recreación, que nos tocan directamente las injusticias de un modelo que queremos transformar. Pero también he sido parte de esos vecinos y vecinas que se han organizado desde octubre en sus territorios y barrios, con ollas comunes, con sus comunidades, que ha realizado cabildos, que se han cuestionado por qué debemos seguir aceptando que otros nos gobiernen para defender sus privilegios. Y en eso estamos ahora.

¿Por qué decidiste ser candidato constituyente?

Las injusticias nos han empujado a movilizarnos y no delegar nuestra voz en políticos reciclados, en farándula o en personajes que no viven en nuestro distrito ni nuestra realidad. Y esto se relaciona con quién soy: trabajador de la multinacional Starbucks, dirigente sindical y vecino de Estación Central, que repito, es una de las 8 comunas populares de nuestro distrito. Me considero una alternativa desde la juventud que ha vivido la cara más latente de la precarización laboral y que rompió el miedo de unirse y frenar los abusos desde la organización. No temo interpelar al poder, como lo hice cuando encaré al Ministro Briones por hacernos pagar el costo de la crisis sanitaria a las y los trabajadores. La constituyente necesita nuestros testimonios, porque hemos vivido las injusticias del modelo en carne propia, organizándonos para transformarlo; quiero estar allí para dar todas las peleas que se tengan que dar como lo he hecho por más de 10 años en nuestro Sindicato.

¿Cuáles han sido tus principales ejes de campaña?

Alcanzar un Estado protagónico, empresario, verdaderamente democrático, paritario, feminista, plurinacional, con soberanía sobre sus recursos naturales y capaz de garantizar una robusta agenda derechos sociales como trabajo y remuneración digna, salud, derechos sexuales, reproductivos y de género, educación, vivienda digna, medio ambiente sano, entre otros. Los derechos sociales no pueden seguir siendo bienes de consumo a los que sólo puedes acceder si tienes privilegios económicos.

¿Cuáles son tus principales propuestas y posturas que irás a defender a la mesa constituyente?

Creo que es difícil hablar de ejes, pues la constitución es sumamente amplia. Dentro del marco de los derechos sociales, creo importante también hablar de derechos laborales que incluyan salarios justos que permitan satisfacer las necesidades de una familia promedio, el derecho a recibir un ingreso universal si no tienes empleo o si realizas trabajos no remunerados o no reconocidos, como los de cuidado y domésticos, que principalmente son ejercidos por mujeres; pensiones suficientes para una vejez digna, y el derecho a organizarte para mejorar tus condiciones laborales realmente.

Además de esto, es necesario hablar de la democracia del Chile que despertó. Debemos delegar poder en la gente y en sus organizaciones, quitándole atribuciones al presidente y transformando el parlamento en una institución abierta y fiscalizada popularmente.  Esto significa terminar con los privilegios en los cargos públicos, crear profundos mecanismos democráticos que permitan la participación de la gente que obliguen a quienes sean electos a rendir cuentas y someterse al poder revocatorio -es decir, si no cumple con su mandato, que pueda ser removido del cargo-, más plebiscitos vinculantes a nivel nacional y local e iniciativas populares de ley, entre otras medidas.

¿Cómo crees que terminará el proceso constituyente?

Creo que todo depende de la cantidad de gente que vaya a votar el 10 y 11 de abril, porque si todas, todos y todes los que votamos Apruebo en octubre vamos a la urna nuevamente, estoy seguro que no ganarán los viejos políticos de siempre, porque estamos cansadas y cansados de los que vienen a nuestro distrito desde Las Condes, Vitacura, Ñuñoa u otras comunas,  a hacer turismo electoral; rostros de la farándula o la vieja política que cuentan con millones de pesos para gastar en sus campañas. Como si Chile no hubiese cambiado, como si Chile no mereciera una mejor forma de hacer política y entregarle el poder a la gente.  Pero si no nos involucramos y rompemos el miedo, jamás acabaremos con la herencia de la dictadura. 

¿Una vez terminada la campaña o de ganar, después del proceso, seguirías carrera política o volverías al trabajo con organizaciones sociales?

Toda mi vida he hecho política para cambiar lo que creo o creemos injusto: en el colegio, en la universidad y por cierto, en mi trabajo. Son cosas que nunca han estado separadas, aunque a empresas como Starbucks no les guste que uno haga política en el lugar de trabajo. Así que, independiente del resultado, seguiré haciendo política y organizándome, ya sea en mi sindicato o donde surja. Esta campaña me ha traído experiencia y aprendizajes para seguir haciéndolo en el barrio, porque la constituyente es el sólo un paso para seguir luchando por lo que es justo, por lo que nos corresponde, y si colectivamente se decide que puedo representar esas demandas en otro espacio, estoy siempre disponible; ahora es cuando tenemos que lograr los cambios y no podemos bajar los brazos.
